Thermotec Ductwrap
Thermotec Ductwrap is designed to insulate air conditioning ductwork, it is extremely user friendly and completely safe to handle ensuring installation is relatively simple. Thermotec Ductwrap consists of a low density, closed cell polyethylene foam, faced with aluminium foil, it’s 100% Australian made. Thermotec Ductwrap is an energy saving product; it has excellent energy absorbing capabilities and provides superior insulation against heat loss.

Why use Thermotec Ductwrap?
- Completely free from all synthetic mineral fibres (SMFs) and therefore no special clothing or respirators are required.
- User friendly and completely safe to handle.
- Because the closed cell structure is impervious to moisture, no standing time is required for drying product prior to use.
- Ductwrap may be applied around the ductwork on site, or pre-fabricated and transported to the site. It is easy to handle and transport without damage, reducing potential costly repairs to the product once installed on site.
- Deadens and absorbs airborne noise.
- Ductwrap is economical, as there is low wastage due to the variety of sizes available to suit all applications.
Suggested Installation Method
Thermotec suggest that the insulation is wrapped around the ductwork surface as tightly as possible and held in position using fixing pins at 400mm maximum centres.
All insulation needs to be installed with the edges and ends tightly butted together to minimise heat loss.
The insulation can be easily cut with a sharp knife for a customised fit. We recommend that all joins be taped using a 72mm pressure sensitive aluminium tape, in order to deliver a continuous vapour barrier.

The $1.76B Gold Coast University Hospital is the largest ever public health infrastructure project to be built in Australia. This is a new 750 bed facility which will provide new and expanded health services to the region. Thermotec NuWrap 5™ Acoustic Pipe Insulation was specified and used on all waste services and associated pipework where noise reduction was required.

Thermotec has a new product now available. MAXFLEX TAPE is made from EPDM insulating foam sheet and specially coated with selected acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive to ensure good tacking strength and long service life. It is closed cell, lightweight, having stable and low thermal conductivity value which serves the insulating purpose in retarding heat loss, heat gain and condensation protection.
MAXFLEX TAPE is made from the same elastomeric material as E-flex/MAXFLEX. It is ideal for ease and quick installation. Just simply wrap onto the hot or cold pipes, or pipe fittings. The tape will adhere firmly to all metals without delamination problem. For more information Click Here.
